Promoting Volunteerism:

At Divertigranja, we rely heavily on the contributions of volunteers. Part of our philosophy is to promote the importance of community service and philanthropy. Most volunteer positions are for a minimum of one month, and include either a furnished place to live close to the farm or rustic housing on-site, including two meals a day, prepared communally by volunteers. We ask a variable weekly co-op fee to defray some of the costs as our resources are very limited.  The volunteer will gain valuable experience and a sense of having contributed to a worthy cause.  While Spanish proficiency is not required for most positions, there are a few areas in which we need volunteers with an advanced level of Spanish speaking and writing ability.

Skills/Qualifications:
Creativity
Ability to listen and work as a team member
Ability to work independently when necessary
Desire to make a difference in this world
Sensitivity to Mexican culture a plus!

Benefits:
All volunteer positions include rustic housing, access to a communal kitchen, opportunity to acquire or improve Spanish language skills, and occasional group field trips to local attractions.

Below is a list of a few possible positions for volunteers to consider.  However, volunteers’ tasks tend to over-lap, as the farm’s daily operational needs change frequently and people often have varying skills and interests in many areas.  While most positions require physical presence in Oaxaca, a few can be conducted entirely over the internet and are noted with an asterisk.
